The original register is stored in the NRO from whom copies on fiches may be purchased. The registers may also be seen on microfilm at Mormon Church (LDS) centres. These registers are messy. Utmost care must be used in going through them to keep track of various sequences of originals, copies and late entries, which have often been squeezed on to any blank space, regardless of chronological order.There are 3 versions, (sometimes intermingled with other years), of the sequence of Baptism entries 1702 - 1706. The original version is hard to read. Attempts to fix these defects gave rise to the 2 later copies.Some entries appear in only one version. Those in more than one have differences in spelling or other details.This index is based on the original sequence as much as possible, but not exclusively, as some entries are not found in it. Quaker births in the parish 1701 - 1716 can be found among the baptisms of 1704/05.
